A lawsuit has been filed against Caltrain by Town of Atherton regarding a plan to electrify the train system, and endangering environmental trees with dangerous configurations at the community train station. Caltrain claims the trains will be faster and efficient for passengers, and helping people increase ridership and reduction of air pollution. The town representing attorney filed the lawsuit alleging the Caltrain electrification system will allow trains to go faster and pedestrians will be in danger. Also, it may open an opportunity for the high-speed trains coming through Atherton and local cities, and number of environmental trees will be removed based on configurations.
