SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA - CALTRANS LAUNCHING EQUITY TOOL

The Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) state agency in San Francisco Bay Area is launching thereby Equity Tool for communities in the Bay Area and statewide. The Caltrans state transportation agency was able to hear from local communities regarding therein Equity Tool to help local communities. The Caltrans Transportation Equity Index (EQI) tool was developed to help communities become aware of transportation projects statewide. Including ways and means of support with negative and/or positive impacts of a local transportation project. The Caltrans state agency started developing thereby EQI tool during 2021, and aligned with therein CAPTI (Climate Action Plan for Transportation Infrastructure). The CalSTA (California State Transportation Agency) ratified thereby CAPTI approach with reviews and reports thereafter public hearings - visit www.dot.ca.gov for more information and/or project updates.
