SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA - CALTRANS AND FOOD TRUCKS PARTNERSHIP

The Caltrans state transportation and Food Truck operators are partnering to provide hot meals for delivery truck drivers at highway rest areas. The California Governor, Gavin Newsom, signed an Executive Order N52-20 alignment with FHA (Federal Highway Administration) approval, to allow selling food at 86 highway rest areas in San Francisco Bay Area and statewide. The Food Truck operators can sell hot meals to delivery truck drivers on state highways during the COVID-19 public health pandemic. The Caltrans agency will accept applications from Food Truck operators for a permit to sell food temporarily until June 15, 2020. The Caltrans will post operating Food Trucks on its website for delivery truck drivers awareness and other drivers at highway rest areas.
