BIKE SHARE EXPANSION PROGRAM IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

Using bicycles for transportation is becoming more of a critical element for some commuters within San Francisco Bay Area. MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and Motivate is a public-private partnership sponsoring the Bike Share expansion program. The partnership agencies shared biking contour maps within the Bay Area for bicyclists, and potentially growing from 700 to 7,000 bikes within new stations during Spring 2017. The expansion program will take place in developmental phases and having ongoing public meetings with community and business leaders, local residents, etc. during the process. Bike share expansion stations will be installed and completed hopefully by the end of 2018, and connecting people to local transit service locations within San Francisco Bay Area.
