The Port of San Francisco administration is opening for partnership proposals regarding Pier-70 historical shipyard. The legendary Pier-70 shipyard is known for assembling steel ships during World War II as well as the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) underwater transbay tunnel. The Port of San Francisco is circulating the RFP (Request For Proposals) process for a potential partnership agency to lease the historical repair shipyard. The Pier-70 shipyard needs drydock and other debris cleaning with repairing dredging areas, and Port of San Francisco will pay for some shipyard repairs.

The JetSuiteX is launching services between SJC (Mineta San Jose International Airport) and Burbank Hollywood Airport starting September 12, 2017. The JetSuiteX chartering flights will operate twice everyday with round-trips from Sunday to Friday. The trip tickets will cost $129 each way including two pieces of luggage with business class space along with complimentary refreshments. The new chartering services along with direct flight routing is catered for customers looking for speed traveling without waiting time.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) has new landing rules because of a landing close-call with Air Canada during last month. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) is changing landing rules at SFO to no longer have air traffic controllers allow pilots to make visual landing during night hours. This means when an airport runway is shut down at night, pilots have to use the instrument landing system or satellite-based systems for landing the airplane at SFO airport.

Some people in San Francisco Bay Area are great people with good human intentions, unfortunately, some people like to vandalize bicycles. Another Ford GoBike bicycle was vandalized in Oakland and set on fire, and other bicycles were disfigured, slashed tires, covered with paint, and thrown into the lake within the Bay Area. The Ford GoBike project effort is to help people with alternative transportation, and protecting our natural environment from car emission fumes.

The transit train serving Sonoma and Marin counties called SMART (Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit) is rolling out for full services on Friday, August 25, 2017. The new North Bay transit train is administered and managed by the SMART District including planning, services implementation, maintenance, and evaluation. The new SMART transportation system is ready for operation thereafter final approval from FRA (Federal Railroad Administration). The SMART railway trains will provide public transportation for local North Bay residents in San Francisco Bay Area.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) Board of Directors approved $21 billion for the muni Capital Plan of future improvement projects. The SFMTA Capital Plan budget identified approximately $71 million for elevators and escalators repair services within coverage areas in San Francisco. Because elevators are out frequently within certain service areas and making it reliable for commuting passengers especially on Van Ness station. Some commuting passengers have to look for alternative accessible way especially passengers using wheelchairs.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is looking at possibly changing starting time and offering youth discounts to ride in the Bay Area. The BART administration is proposing to change therein starting time for trains to 5 AM and could happen towards the end of this calendar year. The BART transit agency is estimating an impact for approximately 2400 commuters and more time is needed for services maintenance control. Because if BART trains operate starting at 5 AM and not 4 AM, it would provide extra time to ensure safety for riders during transporting activities.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency is moving forward progressively with Stevens Creek and Winchester Boulevards improvement projects. The VTA is partnering with City of San Jose for therein transit improvement projects including other local municipal agencies in the South Bay. The transit improvement project has been in planning procedural process and making it happen for future solutions in San Francisco Bay Area. This project is one of many transit improvement projects in the South Bay for better routes, service frequency, and upgrading bus stop lines.

The San Carlos Transit Center improvement project is moving forward progressively with a transformation of parking lots at the Caltrain station. The Caltrain administration posted construction updates for therein improvement project from Saturday, August 12 to Friday, August 18, 2017. The construction crew will be working during weekdays and without night and/or weekend working schedules for "San Carlos Multi-Modal Transit Center". The El Camino Real roadway may be reduced to one lane during construction and neighbors may experience loud noises.
