The AC Transit (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) services agency in East Bay is increasing passenger fees effective Tuesday, July 1, 2025 in the Bay Area. The AC Transit agency has not increased passenger fees since 2020, and facing local budget shortfall during next fiscal year 2025/2026. Including transit regional funding shortfall by MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and ARP (American Rescue Plan) Act of 2021 funding is finished. The AC Transit Board of Directors approved thereby increasing rates to save essential transit services for passengers.

The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) services agency in South Bay is operating with their updated schedules on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
