The transit agencies in San Francisco Bay Area are continually monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) to protect commuting passengers. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency has reduced ridership by 45% because commercial airports and many businesses are without services in the Bay Area.

BART CRIME RATE DECREASE WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is reporting the drop with crime rates during the first two months of 2020 comparing to last year. The BART data shows 7% decrease with overall crime rates and violent crimes have dropped 16% consistently within two months.

SUSPENDED FERRY SERVICES WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The GGBHT (Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation) District has suspended local ferry services for the Chase Center in San Francisco. Because of cancelled events at the Chase Center arena including home games for NBA (National Basketball Association) Champions Golden State Warriors.

SFMTA CENTRAL SUBWAY UPDATE IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) Central Subway is progressively coming along and construction should finish during summertime. The SFMTA Central Subway construction crews have been working during 2019 with challenges of local street closures.
